My eyes are closed and I'm pretending I'm eight again. Not ten, but two long years off. But I'm in my office--bells are ringing, calls are being missed, emails bounce up and down. But they're not, really. I'm elsewhere--summer synapses firing. Sandy, salty, sunburned. Elsewhere an elixir. Did the air move? Only a little.

Good god, I feel old. This is like the soundtrack to my late high school and early college years! Great stuff, indeed! (Well, except for "Seasons in the Sun," which I don't ever need to hear again, but 13 out of 14 is pretty good.)
You can never go wrong with 10cc and/or Godley & Creme. So damn underrated yet you can hear their influence in lots of bands some twenty or thirty years on (see Beck, Air, Jellyfish and the list could gone on and on).
I whole-heartedly agree about 10cc! You could do a whole post of any and all 10cc music, and I'd feel that way. Beauty!
Also, so cool to be reminded of my actual first album purchase with Meatloaf in the list! Thanks!
Yes 10CC are timeless. Unlike Steely Dan, they have remained contemporary without becoming Baby-boomer (c)rock. Well done! Thx TVD! Shamus
I didn't realise Isley Brothers wasn't the original Summer Breeze. Ace.
Yes, Ace. With Paul Carrack on vocals...later sang 'Tempted' with Squeeze.
Thanks for "Brandy"...searched for her so long ;-)
Great music ! (great blog too)
Thanks again.
