This week TVD looks back at a few LPs from the Classic Rock era which, in our humble opinion, don't get the respect they're due.First up is the 1971 debut by that little Irish combo Thin Lizzy. Long before their patented twin-guitar-attack and comic book heroism, Lizzy was a tight three piece and far more introspective and reflective than their later work would have you think. Plus, they rocked (albeit with just one guitarist.)

Having heard only 'Bad Reputation', 'Jailbreak', and 'Johnny The Fox' (albums) before, I look forward to looking back farther the Thin Lizzy road.

Interesting stuff. Though the were a capable hard rocking outfit, it wasn't a style that revealed the true depth of what Lynott was as a songwriter and singer. (Check youtube for live performances. They were an astonishingly good live band.
I thought Johnny the Fox was an underrated album. Brian Downey was one of the best rock drummers of his time.
