Oh I say. You're still in great shape Jonno; even for a prolific bloggy veteran.

More power to your elbow. Keep your pecker up and your stylus fluff free.

Sorry to be a pain but the Simple Minds 12" must be a CD version because my one has the nice guitar intro by Mr Burchill - but I cannot get it in mp3. Thought this was a vinyl blog?

Hi Anon...we prefer you just say thank you.

It's a 12" mix...

Jon - Of course thankyou. Listen don't get me wrong its a brillant site but if we are dealing with 12" mixes then the single release of Someone Somewhere in Summertime was remixed from the album version as was the 12" with the really nice guitar part brought added to the start. If you look on the Simple Minds site Dream giver redux you will get a further explantion vis # As the third, and final UK single, from New Gold Dream (81,82,83,84), Someone Somewhere (In Summertime) was issued to promote the UK leg of the tour which started in late November.

# Charlie had started improvising and playing a new intro for the title track during some of the gigs. This was subsequently recorded and prepended to the extended version.

Its a problem even on the Simple Minds 12" rerelease Themes series which has the same version.

Case rests.
