What to do with all of those email alerts we get that we simply can't do justice throughout the week? Why, it's condense them right here in our new weekly bulletin board, 'plugs.'We don't care where you are or what city you're in--if you've got something you wanna promote or think we should be listening to or seeing or reading, this is the place to put it. Got a band? A photo exhibit? DJing some place? A good cause worth promoting? This is the spot for it. (And if you've checked that little widget waaay down there bottom left, this is a global forum, indeed.)
We'll be posting what lands in our in-box right here daily as well as welcoming your tips, and we'll be refreshing it once a week to stay on top of what we're both up to.
So, clue us in right here in the comments section to these posts. Weekly.

Hope 2009 is treating everyone well so far. Of course, it will be treating you even better if you're at the Marx Cafe this Friday night! That's when Brandon and I will be hosting our first "We Fought the Big One" event of the year. Our monthly celebration of post-punk, classic DIY, and left-of-center underground/independent sounds will be even more special with guest dj William Alberque!
For those of you that don't know William, you are in for a treat. The man boasts an extraordinarily deep record collection--certainly one of the top post-punk/indie collections on the East Coast. William has been a long-time friend of ours and fixture around the DC dj/nightlife scene for years. He has also been one of WFTBO's most enthusiastic and outspoken supporters since the very beginning. The man has even curated his own WFTBO compilations and has given us the green light on burning a few extra copies for this Friday night---but supplies will be limited, so come early and stop by the dj booth if you want one.
Like Belgian beer? We're kinda bonkers for it and ever so grateful the Marx Cafe's charming bartenders are offering it! Plenty of choice libations will be available...
Tasty drinks. Good people. Delirious sounds. It's going to be a crazy good time Friday. Don't miss out!

A couple points of interest.
First the next Electric Possible concert will be held Wed, January 14, at the DC Arts Center, 2438 18th St, NW, WDC. Confirmed for the show are Croniamantal and Music Over Mind Mind Over Matter. More info to come. The series will be held on the second wednesday of each month at DCAC for the foreseeable future. See you there!
