TVD's Daily Wax | The Posies "Frosting on the Beater"

...and then there are the artists and bands who innately embody song-craft and tunefulness, melody and harmony, making the purposeful seem like happenstance--on each and every track on each and every LP. I simply can't sing the praises of The Posies any louder. And you should join me...

The Posies - Flavor Of The Month (Mp3)

Of course I join you on that one. This particular cd is absolutely fantastic. I would not say the same of others from Posies. I listen to this one with the same pleasure 15 years later. All songs are perfect. I was very frustrated by the next cd which was very noisy, sort of nonsensical compared to this one.

I love the Posies. I grew up in the Northwest and while everyone was getting their jollies on the Nirvana/Pearl Jam/Alice in Chains craze, I was all about the Posies. Dear 23 is also wonderful.

classic, classic power pop, though in my humble opinion they never bettered or matched this one, either together or solo.
