When I hear a song that I like instantly I immediately go to the band's myspace page and listen to everything they have posted. With Hurray for the Riff Raff I did that and have been playing it all morning and will continue to do so until you send me the vinyl of Young Blood Blues.

They're fantastic and would really love to hear the album. Thanks for the post. I now have a new band to enjoy and get to know.

This was meant for Hurray for the Riff Raff obviously, but I liked Mt. Desolation as well. I'd take the vinyle for them! I didn't want to be greedy.

I’m crazy about Mt. Desolation. The entire album is a little Jayhawks and obviously a little Keane. Personally, I am dying over Rice-Oxley’s voice… occasionally edging toward that nasal-yet-pleasing quality I adore in Neil Young, especially on the thematic "Annie Ford". "Bitter Pill" actually makes me feel remorse for whatever adolescent cruelty I dealt when I was too young to know the fragility of hearts. That is a difficult emotion to summon in a listener, but MD does it deftly and with compassion. “The State of Affairs” is the most downloaded song of theirs on iTunes, but “Bitter” is the pick of the litter.

My 1969 Magnovox Stereophonic solid state turntable is getting pretty jealous of my ipod speakers playing lame-o mp3s of this album. It really would like to spin Mt. Deso needle-style. I would too. Please send that vinyl my direction. Thanks!
