I’ve posted this once before perhaps a year and a half ago, but I think it’s important to relisten to insomuch as to understand the context in which the Rocktober classics lived and breathed and spit fire and in some cases, blood.
It’s a glorious 45 minute run of classic radio out of New York City in 1979— complete with commercials.
I get misty at the 30 second spot for Crazy Eddie. A few of you just may as well.

Jon, I've listened to this a good few times since you posted it first: we shoved it on in France this summer one holiday Saturday night of cooking and wine, and it was just perfect.
I love old radio shows - they're like little time capsules aren't they? And all the more precious because they were never meant to be preserved for posterity.
PS: Is next month Newavember?
Couldn't agree with you more, Davy. We listened to this once in June at a birthday BBQ for yours truly - and it was the perfect soundtrack.
Next month would be NoWave - right? (Sonic Youth, et al...)
