My dad loved Motown, so I grew up on Mr. Stubbs' voice. Thanks for this post.
This is truly sad news! RIP Levi :(
I remembered Levi by listening to Billy Bragg's single "Levi Stubbs' Tears."
Another great loss. It was a voice I grew up with, listening to Scotty Regen's Motown Monday broadcasts on Keener13 and the Big 8, CKLW. The Tops were together for almost 50 years and the only lineup change was when they began to pass away. Their music spans the generations as proven by my high school age daughter who constantly plays the Tops anthology and my old Four Tops Live at the Roostertail album in the car and for her friends. Rest in Peace.
